We liked Emily and Larson right away, and not just because they introduced us to La Baguette in OKC. (pause to think about delicious food… mmmmm) wink emoticon These two have such a sweet disposition. They are always putting those around them before themselves, and their wedding day was no different. They wanted to make sure everyone else had what they needed and that all of their family and friends had an amazing time. And it really was a perfect day… short of the flash flooding and torrential downpour we had to run through when leaving the church. LOL But these two took it all in stride, and even stepped out in the rain for a few fun shots. Thanks Emily & Larson for asking us to be a part of your wedding weekend.

Theism vs. Atheism

A featured speaker at Westminster College’s 2012 Symposium on Religious Experience in a Global Society, Dr. Doug Geivett discusses the defense of historical Christianity and how and why a theistic worldview should be used in the modern world today. He also discusses how theism differs from atheism and why a theistic worldview plays an important function in individuals’ lives today.

Dr. Geivett is a Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Ethics, Talbot Department of Philosophy, at Biola University (La Mirada, California). Dr. Geivett’s interests include the philosophy of religion, philosophical theology, epistemology, and the history of modern philosophy. He is the author of Evil and the Evidence for God and co-editor of Contemporary Perspectives on Religious Epistemology and In Defense of Miracles: A Comprehensive Case for God’s Action in History. Dr. Geivett is the former president of the Evangelical Philosophical Society. In the past, Dr. Geivett has served as minister to college students at churches in the Pacific Northwest and in Southern California and continues to speak in churches and on university campuses on subjects related to apologetics and the Christian life.

Presented at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri on September 18, 2012. Introduction by Westminster College Dean of Faculty, Dr. Carolyn Perry.

The Westminster Symposium is a special academic experience not found at any other American college or university. Each year, the entire Westminster College community of faculty, staff, and students, as well as the general public, gather for two days to learn about one topic of global importance ranging from health, war in the Mideast, and the Digital Age. Noted experts on each subject have come from all over the world to take part in lectures, panel discussions, and presentations. With campuses in Fulton, Missouri and Mesa, Arizona, Westminster College is ranked one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country by Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review and more.
