His Holiness Orthodox Metropolitan of Belgrade Serbian Patriarch Irenaeus with the bishops examine the Orthodoxy of the elected archmandrite (monk-priest) Methodius to be consecrated Bishop. The candidate confesses Orthodox Faith and condemns all major heresies that threatened the Orthodox Faith through the ages of Church history.
A Milwaukee man has been charged with a felony for vandalizing a statue of the Virgin Mary at a south side church.
The Shrine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the Church of Our Lady of Peace, in Santa Clara, California, is a 32-feet high stainless steel masterpiece statue that graces the church’s front lawn. It is the only major Marian Shrine on the West Coast between Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine in Portland, Oregon, (over 700 miles to the north), and the famous Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, (over 2,300 miles to the south).
This is one of the most iconic and beautiful structures I can remember growing up in the Bay Area and I enjoyed shooting the aerial footage of this shrine and spending time with my father Ernie and brother Gene (seen waving along with me at the end of the clip). I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did making it.
Just so you know- we recorded this interview inside of a rather large Church with high ceilings. There is an odd sound quality to this recording. Hope you do not judge this recording by that. I did correct the timing on this. For some odd reason, Youtube was showing the original version at over 35 minutes!
I sat down with Rev. Dr. Lin S. Lilley, the Rector-Elect of St. Alban’s and had a wonderful conversation. After our talk, as we were talking about other things, we both mentioned that St. Alban’s feels like home.
We also discussed some of the history, and beauty of St. Alban’s. The small chapel, and more.
This interview is was done for a story I wrote for the El Paso Herald-Post about the Church. I do hope you enjoy the interview and will read the article.

Our Lady of the Rockies Berkeley Pit huge Copper Mining Site Our Lady of the Rockies in Butte Montana is the second Talles Statue in the USA Can You guess the First..;-) Butte is a Western Mine Town and The Richest hill In the World and Butte has huge Virgin Mary Statue on top of the mountains overlooking the city Our Lady of the Rockies. The Statue is Lit up att night you can also do a tour and see it up close in the Spring and Summer. This Statue is 90 Feet tall the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil is only 99 feet so pretty close considering just how Small Butte Montana is. The only Statue Bigger than Our Lady of the Rockies is The Statue of Liberty.. The Berkley Pit was the Richest Mountain in the world at the time. They produced enough Copper to pave a Four-Lane Highway four inches thick from Butte to Salt Lake City which is about 350 to 400 miles. That is very impressive. Pause and read the paper it is pretty cool how much rock they pulled out of the pit. They are closed in the winter time or I would of showed you the actual pit itself. As I drove around I tried to zoom in on the giant Virgin Mary statue that they have up on top of the hill but I couldn’t get that good of a shot of it. It is not the size of the one in Brazil but it is huge and quite impressive.
Our Lady of the Rockies is a 90-foot (27 m) statue, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, that sits atop the Continental Divide overlooking Butte, Montana. It is the second tallest statue in the United States after The Statue of Liberty.
The statue was built by volunteers using donated materials to honor women everywhere, especially mothers. The base is 8,510 feet above sea level and 3,500 feet above the town. The statue is lit and visible at night.
The statue was first imagined by local resident Bob O’Bill. In 1979, his wife was seriously ill with cancer. He promised the Blessed Virgin Mary that he would make a 5 foot statue of her in his yard if his wife recovered. When she recovered he began the project with his fellow workers who gradually changed the initial vision to a 90-foot-high mountain top statue. Many people in Butte donated materials and time to make the statue a reality. The design for the statue was engineered by Laurien Eugene Riehl. He was a retired engineer for the Anaconda Company who donated his engineering skills to the project. The statue had to withstand the powerful windsheers that buffet the ridge tops. Joe Roberts donated his lot and buildings for the construction of the statue. The statue was airlifted from Roberts Rocky Mountain Equipment to its present site on the Continental Divide.
Work on the project began December 29, 1979. Volunteers spent many summer evenings blasting a road to the top of the Rockies, sometimes making only 10 feet of progress a day. The base of the statue was poured in September 1985 with 400 tons of concrete. The concrete was provided by Pioneer

Virgin Mary statue seems to be CRYING rose-scented tears in New Mexico. A Virgin Mary statue is apparently crying tears that smell like roses.
Churchgoers at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Hobbs, New Mexico, first noticed it during Mass on Sunday.
The church’s pastor, Father Jose ‘Pepe’ Segura said a parishioner told him about the tears and he saw people wipe the statue’s face only to have the tears reappear.
‘That’s when I saw that she really was crying,’ Father Pepe told the Las Cruces Sun Sentinel. ‘I think it’s a reminder for all of us to get closer to God and to stop being violent.’ The church stayed open round the clock as people came from all over New Mexico and even as far as Texas to see what the faithful are calling a miracle.
One man, Peter McDonald of Midland Texas, took his five children out of school to see the crying Virgin.
He told KVIA-TV: ‘It’s an unbelievable blessing to be out here in west Texas and in the middle of nowhere, to have the statue here weeping like this, is just amazing.’
On Thursday, the Diocese of Las Cruces New Mexico came in to test the tears, to determine if this is, in fact, a miracle.
Deacon Jim Winder, the vice chancellor of the Diocese said that it will take a lot of testing, he told KOB-TV that ‘you can’t prove a miracle, but you can disprove all other explanations’.The church was closed for four hours while the officials collected samples of the ‘tears’.
They will also x-ray the statue, interview witnesses and dig all the way back to where the statue was made. The process could take years.
But no matter what the Church finds, parishioners are convinced that they witnessed a miracle.
Laura Wright, who lives in Hobbs said: ‘It feels real, she’s actually crying. She’s sad.’
The church will stay open for as long as people keep coming, according to manager Judy Ronquillo.
She said she’s been going through a hard time, but ‘when I saw this, everything went away. This is a miracle, there is nothing more. We know there is a God. In the past, when I see this, I see this on TV. We don’t see it in Hobbs, New Mexico. Not until now. I believe it’s a miracle.’
