Buddhist Christopher Taylor (Lama Rigdizin), raised in Lincoln, NE and confirmed at First-Plymouth Church in the Christian faith, and then became an ordained Buddhist, shares thoughts of spirituality. Taylor currently oversees a Buddhist center in Curitiba, Brazil.

Lama Rigdzin has been a student of H.E. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche’s since 1992, first at Rigdzin Ling, in California, then, since 1995, in Brazil. During that time he has attended many teachings and retreats, and served Rinpoche in various capacities. His construction and craftsman abilities were extremely valuable during the construction of the temple at Khadro Ling, and as a fine artist, he has worked with Rinpoche on artistic projects, most notably a large statue of Akshobhya Buddha. He has also served as chöpon (shrine master), umze (chant master), lama dancer, and as Rinpoche’s translator.

His qualities were officially recognized by Rinpoche in an ordination as lama in 2002. Lama Rigdzin and his wife, Lama Yeshe, were requested to be resident lamas at Chagdud Dorje Ling in Curitiba, Paraná. Lama Rigdzin communicates in Portuguese.

Carson Estates, Two Peaks 360 degree view from near the main road March 28, 2013

I took a walk to a different part of Carson Estates in northern New Mexico and did a 360 degree video. This is between Unit 4 and 5. There is a beautiful view all around of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (part of the Rocky Mountains) to the east, south and north and other mountains in the distance to the west. I’m talking in this one. Yes, it’s windy but I think you can hear most of what I say. 🙂 There’s lots of sage brush around here and only tiny trees in among the sagebrush. We’re all off the grid and haul in our water. It’s about a 45 minute drive to the town of Taos.

This cemetery resides along the edge of a canyon where the great American River flows. Thus many miners came here to prospect only eventually to meet there doom where they were buried at this very site during the gold rush. The cemetery is well shaded also rumored to be haunted what burial ground isn’t seriously? But the history and beautiful stones all tell a tale with scenic views it truly is a magnificent place. At one time Protestants were buried here however its now been divided into sections so that other community residents can be buried here as well.

For 16 charter seasons, Petersburg, Alaska, or “Alaska’s Little Norway,” has been one of Ursa Major Charters’ favorite destinations in Alaska. Between the fresh seafood caught locally and the friendly locals, it’s hard to beat a sunny day in Petersburg!

Visit www.myursamajor.com for more information on Ursa Major Charters, and our Alaskan Adventure Trips. Our Alaska Adventure trips are multi-activity trips and include something for everyone. Trip activities include wildlife viewing, photography, kayaking, and hiking, and our trip itineraries are customized based on guest preference, and vary trip by trip. Our trips between Sitka and Peterburg take us along the eastern side of Baranof Island, also known as “The Waterfall Coast” due to the extensive amount of continuous falling water found there year-round. The glacially-carved fjords found along that coast are among of the most spectacular wildlife viewing and paddling spots in all of southeast Alaska.
