Verdict in Logan Ave. homicide trial, Feb. 9, 2018

Jurors reached a verdict Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, in the cases of two of the three people charged with murder in the 2016 shooting death of Otavious Brown on Logan Avenue in Waterloo, Iowa.

The jury on Friday, after four days of deliberation, returned verdicts finding Shavondes Martin, 22, acquitted on all counts, and Doncorrion Spates, 17, guilty of murder, attempted murder, intimidation with a weapon.

Jurors are still deliberating on the case of Armand Rollins Jr., 18.

Prosecutors said the three were in a SUV that opened fire on a group of people outside 817 Logan Ave. on July 17, 2016.
