June 8 — Gary Leffew is a world-champion bull rider who has been training the top competitors in the field for over three decades. For a small fee, amateur riders can spend a weekend learning from Leffew and his team and see how they fare on top of an angry, one-ton beast. (Video by Zach Goldstein, Drew Beebe, Amy Marino)

We decided that this would be a yearly event. Each year we would select an unsung hero(s) from around the country to honor by riding our bicycles to their hometown and providing financial and emotional support to their families and friends. The ride would take place about a year after their death as a reminder that they have not and would not be forgotten.
The Brotherhood Ride continues the tradition of Honor, Dedication and Pride.
Over the past four years we have honored the memory and sacrifice of a total of 425 First Responders which includes; law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel. Our team has traveled on bicycles, over 3600 miles and through fourteen states. Our latest ride was completed on September 10, 2011, to honor the memories of the 411 first responders who died at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001. We were able to show the families in New York that their loved ones will not be forgotten. Through the generous donations of our supporters, we were able to donate $50,000; which was evenly divided between the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Concerns of Police Survivors.

Andrew joins me in the “40’s Club”, and to celebrate the decade milestone, we ride an elevator with his favorite fixtures, a Dover Custom/Flat Impulse Hydraulic Elevator at City Hall, downtown Leominster, Massachusetts.
The hydraulics are a lot smoother now. Use to be quite rough.
