Some excellent Dabke dancing during the reception. The drummer, the best I have seen on a wedding.

The Lebanese Greek Orthodox Christians are believed to constitute about 8% of the total population of Lebanon. The Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch adheres to the Eastern Orthodox Church. They are the second largest Christian denomination within Christianity in Lebanon. Christianity in Lebanon dates back to biblical times. Early reports relate the possibility that Saint Peter himself was the one who evangelized the Phoenicians whom he affiliated to the ancient patriarchate of Antioch. Paul also preached in Lebanon, having lingered with the early Christians in Tyre and Sidon.

Swieconka – ‘the blessing of the Easter basket’ is one of the most enduring and beloved Polish traditions on Holy Saturday. The food in the baskets have a symbolic meaning: eggs- symbolise life and Christ’s resurrection, bread – symbol of Jesus, Lam – represents Christ, salt – represents purification, horseradish – symbolic of bitter sacrifice of Christ, ham – symbolic of great joy and abundance

For 16 charter seasons, Petersburg, Alaska, or “Alaska’s Little Norway,” has been one of Ursa Major Charters’ favorite destinations in Alaska. Between the fresh seafood caught locally and the friendly locals, it’s hard to beat a sunny day in Petersburg!

Visit www.myursamajor.com for more information on Ursa Major Charters, and our Alaskan Adventure Trips. Our Alaska Adventure trips are multi-activity trips and include something for everyone. Trip activities include wildlife viewing, photography, kayaking, and hiking, and our trip itineraries are customized based on guest preference, and vary trip by trip. Our trips between Sitka and Peterburg take us along the eastern side of Baranof Island, also known as “The Waterfall Coast” due to the extensive amount of continuous falling water found there year-round. The glacially-carved fjords found along that coast are among of the most spectacular wildlife viewing and paddling spots in all of southeast Alaska.
