SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A busy Sunday morning in Springfield as thousands of locals attended services at two new churches in town.

KOLR10 lin visited Life Church and Life360, both of which are using a more modern and contemporary style service.

“The newest location launching this very weekend, in a brand new facility in Springfield Missouri,” said Craig Groeschel, the senior pastor at Life Church.

This is the 31st Life Church in the country, and more than 1,800 people attended the two services in what used to be the old Remington’s building.

Life Church Springfield is starting off with two services every weekend.

One at 10:00 A.M., and one at 11:30 A.M.

Each service is about an hour long, starts off with some songs, and features biblical teachings from pastor Groeschel.”

“There will be a group of people gathered in a community in Missouri believing God, said Pastor Groeschel.

Pastors said the main goal of life church is to get their message heard, not making it a place where people have to dress up.

“Our dress code is really simple,” said campus pastor Bryan Franco, “yes, please. We want people to come in, however, they’re comfortable, so they can hear the message that’s really going to impact them.”

Pastor Franco said there’s also an entire section of the church designed specifically for kids.

“So when I see them run through the doors with their eyes just big and excited, it just does something to me as a dad, to see my kinds loving when they go to church, you know,” Franco said.

Church attendees said this is a very welcoming community.

“When you walk in the door, you’re just so welcome,” said Debbie Umfleet, a church attendee, “people talk to you, they say hi, you have that feeling.”

And over at Life360, lead pastor Ted Cederblom talked about the success of their opening day with hundreds of people coming in.

“Since this is the old palace movie theater, we had the series with star wars the force awakens, the wizard of oz, and so forth. We had a lot of fun showing clips, and tie in that contemporary component into what the bible says,” pastor Cederblom said.
