We welcome your comments on the open blog thread for this show.
YouTube comments are at present disabled in our channel, to the displeasure of some. However, each video has a prominent link to the associated open thread that appears on our blog. In the past we’ve tried opening up the channel to comments, but we found that a very high number of episodes wound up being flooded with a combination of spam, long winded apologists, and various obscene or misogynistic comments directed at various hosts by people with an axe to grind. This seems to be the nature of YouTube comment sections, in our experience.
We do moderate the blog, the same way that we moderate chat during the show, as well as comments on our Facebook group. For comment sections that are “officially” associated with our show (and, to a much lesser extent, channels that may give the unintended appearance of being official), we prefer not to play host to straight up ad hominem attacks and bigotry. As a general policy we do not block commenters simply on the basis of disagreement with our point of view. However, we do prefer discussion environments that don’t actively chase off more reasonable contributors.

WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

Another white supremacist, Bill Johnson, also attended these meetings according to Kelso. Bill Johnson authored the ‘Pace Amendment’ to deport all non-whites from the United State. Ron Paul held a fundraiser at Johnson’s house in September of 2007, charging $2,000 a plate. ‘Coincidentally’ Ron Paul wants to end birthright citizenship, allowing the deportation of US citizens who now have legal status.
Reich-Wing Watch: “Fighting Despotism, Saving Democracy”
Reich-Winger (adj.): an individual who’s views are so far right that they are ideologically aligned with the Third Reich. A Reich-Winger typically is opposed to democratic institutions such as workers unions, support Social-Darwinism (survival of the finically fittest, usually disguised as ‘individualism’), are anti-semites, hate gays, hate immigrants, hate Marxists, support strong border security and national sovereignty, oppose separation of church and state, support voter suppression (voter ID laws + cutting early voting + cutting voting places), and believe in legislating morality (religious freedom laws + gay marriage + abortion).
AMAZING! 44% of Republicans say they’re ready to overthrow the United States government. Last time right-wingers tried to overthrow democratic government was when the American Liberty League, a Paleoconservative movement involving executives from JP Morgan, Goodyear Tire, and Prescott Bush (George W’s grandfather), plotted to overthrow Franklin Roosevelt after he implemented a massive overhaul of so called ‘free’ market capitalism, regulating banks and taking the nation off the gold standard.

Please watch her powerful story. Jamie talks real about life as a runway and youth homelessness. Everything from living under a bridge while pregnant during the winter months to living without food and having to call for help. Thank God for Safe Place [ and Wichita Children’s Home [
I love Jamie’s candor in her three wishes, but she kind of shocked me at the end. Watch and tell me what you think.

About Invisible People:
Since its launch in November 2008, Invisible People has leveraged the power of video and the massive reach of social media to share the compelling, gritty, and unfiltered stories of homeless people from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. The vlog (video blog) gets up close and personal with veterans, mothers, children, layoff victims and others who have been forced onto the streets by a variety of circumstances. Each week, they’re on InvisiblePeople.tv, and high traffic sites such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, proving to a global audience that while they may often be ignored, they are far from invisible.
Invisible People goes beyond the rhetoric, statistics, political debates, and limitations of social services to examine poverty in America via a medium that audiences of all ages can understand, and can’t ignore. The vlog puts into context one of our nation’s most troubling and prevalent issues through personal stories captured by the lens of Mark Horvath – its founder – and brings into focus the pain, hardship and hopelessness that millions face each day. One story at a time, videos posted on InvisiblePeople.tv shatter the stereotypes of America’s homeless, force shifts in perception and deliver a call to action that is being answered by national brands, nonprofit organizations and everyday citizens now committed to opening their eyes and their hearts to those too often forgotten.
Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the way we think about people experiencing homelessness.

In a previous show Kevin took a look at the Bible’s perspectives on slavery, which were written between 4500 and 2000 years ago. This time he addresses an incarnation of slavery that plagues the modern world, including our own communities and schools in the US: human trafficking.
Human trafficking can be defined as “the deprivation of a human being’s liberty for the purpose of sexual exploitation or labor exploitation.” Traffickers identify vulnerable people and gain control of them through physical force, fraud, or psychological coercion in order to use them for profit through commercial labor or sex acts. This ranges from forcing them to do excessive physical work for little or no pay, to making them participate in pornography or even prostitution against their will.
Kevin’s guests are Chief Deputy District Attorney Summer Stephan, and PLNU professor Dr. Jamie Gates. Both have been involved in efforts to end human trafficking for many years: Summer through the District Attorney’s office, and Jamie through his organization Churches Against Trafficking. They talk with Kevin about the causes of this problem, how to raise awareness and fight against it, and what warning signs to look for in order to recognize both perpetrators and victims.
To learn more about human trafficking and what you can do to stop it, visit FightHumanTraffickingSD.com and AbolishHumanTrafficking.com. Consider getting involved in an upcoming event, such as AHT’s Break Free Run on September 12th, in order to raise awareness about this critical issue.
This episode first aired on August 30th, 2015.
Educate For Life with Kevin Conover airs Saturdays, 2-3 PM PT.
