We decided that we wanted to document our cross country trip from Maine to California and in doing so we stopped at the Brewer Walmart in Maine for a few days to pick up supplies and rest and this happened. After checking we found he did in fact hit the cover to the propane tanks, denting it… that it’s self is endangering everyone around in the parking area let alone us!!
One of the most emailed questions I get to my inbox, is about countries that are African-American friendly. So what exactly does that mean? Watch the video and see!
And while it’s important to realize every African-American will have their own unique experience, I just wanted to highlight the most pleasant experiences I’ve received through my 30 countries of travels (now 65 by the start of 2018).
Remember, it’s okay to disagree and our experiences will vary based on so many things. Being an African-American WOMAN vs. an African-American MAN also renders its own unique account.

A seminar to train greeters and for lay members to attract and keep visitors who attend your church. West Region Ministry Network Member Training Seminar on October 18, 2014
This week on our blog at Leaders.Church —
The word nearly EVERY church uses to describe their church is “friendly.” It seems as though everyone thinks they have a really friendly church. No pastor ever tells me their church is grouchy!
But what’s interesting is the #1 reason we hear from people who decide not to go back to a particular church is because the church wasn’t very friendly.
So there’s a disconnect somewhere between the perception of the visitor and the perception of the church people and/or pastor.
The fact remains that a guest who experiences your church may base their decision to return simply on the friendliness of the people…
… so the question is — how friendly is your church really?
Pastors and church leaders can unknowingly give too little emphasis to such an important measurement in the eyes of a visitor or unchurched person, and as a result miss out on a great opportunity to disciple new people who may have stayed.
In this video we share a mindset you need to have as a pastor or church leader, and it all has to do with putting yourself in the visitor’s shoes …
… but we all know to do that, right? Well, hopefully these thoughts will put it in a little different light for you and provide a new perspective for the guest experience at your church.
Be sure to pass this along to your hospitality team, first impressions team, and others who play a role in welcoming visitors to your church.

Pope Francis received this morning the national football teams of Italy and Argentina ahead of a friendly international Wednesday in his honour at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico. Pope Bergoglio welcomed the players from the two countries that mean more to him by origin and birth and the two delegations came bearing gifts of the sporty kind. Soccer balls and signed jerseys but also an olive plant presented to him by soccer star Lionel Messi.

An article by Pastor Bryan Fischer points the finger squarely at the professing Christian Church in America for our nation’s decline in morality and biblical values. The Christian Church is supposed to be the moral and spiritual conscience of our nation, challenging government and people when they stray from God. Instead, Fischer thinks it has become the problem rather than the solution. Mike and David discuss this on today’s program.
We also check in with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action to discuss the spiritual and political climate in Madison regarding life, marriage, and religious freedom issues.
From today’s interview: “Law is always downstream of culture.”
“When religious freedom bumps into a person’s perceived “civil rights,” Christians and religious freedom loses.” – Julaine Appling
