Pastor Keith Tyler from Antioch Baptist Church in Lexington Kentucky sharing with Gilt Edge on their 90th church anniversary.
Rev. Keith G. Tyler, Sr. professed a hope in Christ when he was a child. He was baptized by the late Rev. A. D. Jones, Pastor of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, Louisville, Kentucky. He was called by God to Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1985. He received a special recognition for his participation and teaching skills in the Christian Education Department “Sunday School Extravaganza” from the Central District Association of Baptist in Kentucky. In 1993, Rev. Tyler was appointed by his Pastor, Rev. Larry Houston, as Minister of Education of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, where he was also Licensed and Ordained into the Gospel Ministry.
Rev. Tyler has served as an Assistant to Rev. Walter Pete Cosby, former Pastor of Day Spring Baptist Church, Louisville, Kentucky. Rev. Tyler is a continuing student of the Word of God. He also has a background in Business Education. Rev. Tyler was elected Valedictorian of the Lexington Bluegrass Area Minority Contractor Training Program by his class. He has matriculated studies at Simmons Bible College, Louisville, Kentucky; Hopkinsville College of the Bible, Hopkinsville, Kentucky; Spencerian College of Business and American Institute of Banking, Louisville, Kentucky. Rev. Tyler served as Pastor of Eastview Missionary Baptist Church, Madisonville, Kentucky for 5 ½ years. He has earned a B.A. degree in Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla Georgia and is presently pursuing a Masters of Theology from that same educational institution.
Rev. Tyler holds the current offices: Trustee, Simmons College of Kentucky, Louisville, Kentucky; State President, Progressive National Baptist Convention Incorporated; Member of the Long Range Housing Authority Loan Review Board and Community Ventures, Lexington, Kentucky.
Rev. Tyler has served as Western Regional Kentucky Missionary for the General Association of Kentucky Baptists. He was the Founder and President of the Beacon of Life Radio Ministry Broadcast and the Founder of the Eastview Community Tutorial Skills Enhancement Ministry, Madisonville, Kentucky. He has served as President of the NAACP of Madisonville, Kentucky and Hopkins County. In 1977, Rev. Tyler was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Paul E. Patton.
In August of 1998, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Lexington, Kentucky extended the call of Pastor to Rev. Keith G. Tyler, Sr. where he is presently serving as Pastor. Under his leadership, souls have been added to the Church. He has inspired and encouraged the Antioch Family to develop “wholistic” Christian Ministries that addresses the needs of the congregation and community.
Above all, Rev. Tyler finds joy evangelizing and traveling across the Globe declaring to all mankind that he is a “Born Again” man of God, called by God to “Open his mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the Gospel.” Ephesians 6:19
