Winston-Salem Police Department News Conference on Motor Road traffic stop.
A large church in Alabama is one step closer to creating its very own police force, a move that seems to be unprecedented here in the United States. What’s up guys and welcome to Cops Court and Coffee…I’m Darnell Eason.
Now the Alabama Senate has voted to allow Briarwood Presbyterian church in Birmingham the right to form its own police force. The 4,000 member congregation received a favorable 24-4 vote from the Senate to allow the church to establish a law enforcement department.
The church says it needs its own police officers to keep its school as well as its more than 4,000 person congregation safe.
Of course there are some challengers of this bill, who disagree with the measure stating that a police department that reports to church officials could be used to cover up crimes.
It should be noted that Alabama has given some private universities the authority to have a police force, but never a church or non-school institution.
Well that’s all I have on this right now. If I hear more…I’ll bring you more. But for now, comment below and tell me if you would have a problem if your local church had its own police department. Don’t forget to hit that like button and if you didn’t already. Don’t forget to subscribe.

Not many people recognize the training that goes on behind the scenes by members of our emergency service men and women – but this video attempts to do a little justice by showing some of the scenarios they prepare for to help keep us out of harm’s way or at least be better prepared when the unthinkable happens.
Fisheye Digital Design Studio, LLC had the privilege of tagging along for a few days of with various fire & rescue teams from across the state & region, including: Hampton, Newport News, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Richmond, Ohio, New Jersey and various military teams. The two scenarios presented were: 1. “Bad Day in the Sky”, where a simulated Cessna airplane crashed in the forest of Northwest River Park leaving one crash victim still in the airplane in the tree with another who’s parachute was hung from a nearby tree. Teams were tested on the amount of time it took them to safely secure the airplane, climb the tree and board the airplane to retrieve the victim. They were then notified of the other nearby victim who was stuck in the tree and they were to safely retrieve this person. 2. “In the Trenches”, where construction workers are struck by a distracted driver and buried in the trench underneath a concrete pipe and a vehicle. The various teams were expected to stabilize the trench, remove the vehicle and lift the pipe to free the victim and remove them safely from the trench.

Follow VISION City Church:
Contemporary Praise and worship, lead by The Vision City Collective, followed by teaching from Pastor Garid Beeler.
VISION City Church is committed to the mission of:
“Teaching the Bible, Equipping the Saints, Preaching the Gospel, and Jesus Builds the Church.”
TEACHING THE BIBLE – “For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.” (Acts 20:27) — We teach the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and book by book in order “…that the Christian may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
EQUIPPING THE SAINTS – “…equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…”- (Ephesians 4:12) Our desire is for each individual to be equipped with a personal, working knowledge of the Bible. Thus, we place a great emphasis upon the teaching of God’s Word. We equip the church so that they can be successful in serving each other and the community.
PREACHING THE GOSPEL – Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” — (Mark 16:15) Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ is at the core of VISION City Church. Each service will have the Gospel clearly presented with the Bible teaching. In addition, VISION for My City events will be taking place regularly throughout the year with the primary focus of evangelistic outreach to the community. During these events Pastor Garid will be clearly delivering the message of the Gospel! For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:13-14)
JESUS BUILDS THE CHURCH – Jesus said, “…I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18) We believe that VISION City Church is the Lord’s Church, the people are His people, and the work that takes place in His church and with His people is His work. God said, “I work, and who will reverse it?” (Isaiah 43:13)
