A compilation of my mission from March 2016-August 2017 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Nearly 2 years ago today I entered the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah to prepare myself to teach Christ’s gospel to the people of Tucson, Arizona. For a year and a half I was able to meet hundreds of people in Arizona and teach and talk about Jesus Christ with them. I am forever grateful for the opportunity I had to share what I know. Many friends of mine have asked if it is mandatory for Mormons to serve a mission. I just have to laugh because it is absolutely voluntary. I chose to go and serve the Lord.
It wasn’t a walk in the park, in fact it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Your faith is tested, patience is tried, rejection is consistant, you live with another person you have never met before, your weaknesses are put on display. It is physically, mentally, and spiritually demanding. However, all of those trials make you grow into something you never could on your own. I wanted to quit and go home several times. I cried and prayed harder than I ever have in my life. I felt so alone at times. All of the trials and tests I was given were just God’s way of making me come closer to Him. I realized that all God ever wanted was for me to have a loving and close relationship with Him. It helps to have the support of those around you, but at times I needed to let go of my pride and just rely 100% on God.
