Stated in NRS 205.300, Nevada law defines embezzlement as illegally converting (misappropriating) property that had been entrusted to you.

Nevada cases most commonly get filed in the context of employees embezzling from their company. An example is an employee receiving cash from a customer, and instead of putting it in the register he/she pockets it. Another example is never returning a car you rented.

In Nevada, an embezzlement case could be filed as a misdemeanor or a felony depending on the value of the money or property that was embezzled. If the value is less than $650, embezzlement is a misdemeanor carrying up to 6 months in jail. Otherwise, embezzlement is a felony that carries up to 10 years in Nevada State Prison.

One defense to embezzlement in Nevada is that the defendant had a genuine belief he/she had the right to the property. Another defense is that the defendant did not know about the embezzlement, and someone else did the embezzling. Paying back the money could also help the charge get dismissed or reduced in Nevada.

JINGER BABY GIRL UPDATE!!! How Jinger Duggar Prepared For Baby Felicity AND ‘Advice’ From Her Sisters!!!

As Jinger Duggar Vuolo prepared to welcome her baby girl, the Counting On star received some valuable advice from the women in her life that shaped her motherhood journey.

On Thursday, Jinger and her husband Jeremy Vuolo became first-time parents to their daughter Felicity Nicole Vuolo. In a TLC video filmed in the last trimester of her pregnancy, Jinger and Jeremy shared their excitement about becoming parents and opened up about how they prepared to become a family of three.

“We’re super excited we’re going to be meeting our little baby soon!” Jinger said in the video. “The last trimester has been quite nice. I feel a little big, so I’m uncomfortable a few days here and there, but for the most part, health-wise everything’s going good and we’re very grateful for that.”

To help prepare for Felicity’s arrival, Jeremy shared that they were “getting the house ready and making sure we have all the necessary accessories we’ll need, like diapers and clothes, so just the final touches.”

Although Jinger no longer lives close to the Duggar family in her home state of Arkansas, the couple resides in Laredo, Texas. her mother and sisters shared some pregnancy advice from afar.

“I’ve gotten a lot of good advice from my mom and sisters. A lot is just don’t stress because as I think about it, the closer it gets, it’s easy to become anxious,” Jinger explained. “And so I think just looking forward to meeting this little girl and trying not to think about it too much.”

Jeremy added, “The advice I’ve gotten for helping Jinger during the labor process is just to be available and there to support her with whatever she needs.”

The couple tied the knot in November 2016 and announced in January of this year that they were expecting.

My advice is this: Settle! That’s right. Don’t worry about passion or intense connection. Don’t nix a guy based on his annoying habit of yelling “Bravo!” in movie theaters. Overlook his halitosis or abysmal sense of aesthetics. Because if you want to have the infrastructure in place to have a family, settling is the way to go. Based on my observations, in fact, settling will probably make you happier in the long run, since many of those who marry with great expectations become more disillusioned with each passing year. (It’s hard to maintain that level of zing when the conversation morphs into discussions about who’s changing the diapers or balancing the checkbook.)

Obviously, I wasn’t always an advocate of settling. In fact, it took not settling to make me realize that settling is the better option, and even though settling is a rampant phenomenon, talking about it in a positive light makes people profoundly uncomfortable. Whenever I make the case for settling, people look at me with creased brows of disapproval or frowns of disappointment, the way a child might look at an older sibling who just informed her that Jerry’s Kids aren’t going to walk, even if you send them money. It’s not only politically incorrect to get behind settling, it’s downright un-American. Our culture tells us to keep our eyes on the prize (while our mothers, who know better, tell us not to be so picky), and the theme of holding out for true love (whatever that is—look at the divorce rate) permeates our collective mentality.

Even situation comedies, starting in the 1970s with The Mary Tyler Moore Show and going all the way to Friends, feature endearing single women in the dating trenches, and there’s supposed to be something romantic and even heroic about their search for true love. Of course, the crucial difference is that, whereas the earlier series begins after Mary has been jilted by her fiancé, the more modern-day Friends opens as Rachel Green leaves her nice-guy orthodontist fiancé at the altar simply because she isn’t feeling it. But either way, in episode after episode, as both women continue to be unlucky in love, settling starts to look pretty darn appealing. Mary is supposed to be contentedly independent and fulfilled by her newsroom family, but in fact her life seems lonely. Are we to assume that at the end of the series, Mary, by then in her late 30s, found her soul mate after the lights in the newsroom went out and her work family was disbanded? If her experience was anything like mine or that of my single friends, it’s unlikely.

And while Rachel and her supposed soul mate, Ross, finally get together (for the umpteenth time) in the finale of Friends, do we feel confident that she’ll be happier with Ross than she would have been had she settled down with Barry, the orthodontist, 10 years earlier? She and Ross have passion but have never had long-term stability, and the fireworks she experiences with him but not with Barry might actually turn out to be a liability, given how many times their relationship has already gone up in flames. It’s equally questionable whether Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw, who cheated on her kindhearted and generous boyfriend, Aidan, only to end up with the more exciting but self-absorbed Mr. Big, will be better off in the framework of marriage and family. (Some time after the breakup, when Carrie ran into Aidan on the street, he was carrying his infant in a Baby Björn. Can anyone imagine Mr. Big walking around with a Björn?)

A Waco Survivor Describes What Really Happened (1999)

The Waco siege was a siege of a compound belonging to the religious group Branch Davidians by American federal and Texas state law enforcement and US military between February 28 and April 19, 1993. About the book:

The Branch Davidians, a sect that separated in 1955 from the Seventh-day Adventist Church, was led by David Koresh and lived at Mount Carmel Center ranch in the community of Elk, Texas,[5][6][7] nine miles (14 kilometers) east-northeast of Waco. The group was suspected of weapons violations, causing a search and arrest warrant to be obtained by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The incident began when the ATF attempted to raid the ranch. An intense gun battle erupted, resulting in the deaths of four government agents and six Branch Davidians. Upon the ATF’s failure to raid the compound, a siege was initiated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the standoff lasting 51 days. Eventually, the FBI launched an assault and initiated a tear gas attack in an attempt to force the Branch Davidians out of the ranch. During the attack, a fire engulfed Mount Carmel Center. 76 people died,[8][9] including David Koresh.

Much dispute remains as to the actual events of the siege. A particular controversy ensued over the origin of the fire; a government investigation concluded in 2000 that sect members themselves had started the fire. The events near Waco, and the siege at Ruby Ridge less than 12 months earlier were both cited as the primary motivations behind the Oklahoma City bombing that took place exactly two years later.
