In addition, the deceased are buried by choir; to the Moravians, these were the living groups into which the Congregation was originally divided to meet the needs of the members according to their age and station in life. Originally men and women sat in their choir groups in church at worship. The burial by choir in God’s Acre also reflects the way the members of the congregation sat as a worshipping community so that visually and symbolically the Congregation continues in the graveyard.

Danforth is a very small community, as I stated it has a very low population of approx 600 people total. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 60.46 square miles, of which, 54.00 square miles of it is land and 6.46 square miles is water. It’s truly a Sportsman’s Paradise. Very safe for children too. The schools are good too. Pretty much crime-free and safe too.

Now onto info about the house … The home sits on approx 1/2 acre lot. It features 2 bedrooms, one upstairs and the other is a round bedroom downstairs, two bathrooms also one down and one up.

The upstairs is a woman’s delight and features a very good sized bedroom with a skylight and very large lighted, walk-in closets with two sets of mirrored doors. Part of the upstairs bedroom is opened to the living room below. Upstairs bathroom features toilet, vanity and shower. The upstairs needs a couple repairs, one is a 8 inch hole in the sheetrock the other repair is a seam in a piece of sheetrock became untaped. The upstairs also features ceiling fans and recessed lights. There are also sliding doors to a deck off the upstairs bedroom the floor on the floor of that deck should be replaced. I’m 60 years old and disabled, I couldn’t do it by myself.

The first floor has a kitchen (recently painted) with ceiling fans and recess lights, another bathoom that features a toilet, vanity and a bathtub with a shower. Inside the bathroom there’s a full length closet which has your washer / dryer hook ups. There’s a round room on the first floor (which I called my oval office), that could also be the second bedroom, an office, a dining room, etc, this room was also recently painted. The living room floor needs to be recovered, instead of using plywood, the previous owners used waferboard which will need to be replaced.. All ceiling in the home are textured ceilings.

There is town water and private septic and annual taxes are only $500.00 a year. It’s a very pretty area and I hate to have to sell. It’s not a mansion but then again, it’s a really beautiful place to live (and not expensive as most towns / cities).

About 45 minutes to the north is the Town of Houlton, Maine. This is a larger town featuring more stores like Walmart, Marden’s Surplus Outlet, Burger King, McDonald’s, motels, campgrounds, banks, supermarkets, still some mom and pop stores left there too, a movie theater, Pizza Hut, gas stations, restaurants, Rite-Aid, auto part places, a number of parks and much, much more.

Maine is known as “Vacationland” but you got to truly experience it and live the more relaxed lifestyle. If you ever dreamed of being able to leave the bigger crime-ridden cities and having a less stressful life, this might be the chance you were looking for. There are not very many low crime areas left in our great country, fortunately this is one of the ones that are left. Great place to raise children too.
